- How can mediation help?

Mediation can help with – Resolution of disputes between neighbours including – boundaries, children, noise, parking and pets.
- Who are the Mediators?

Cwmpas mediators are all qualified and experienced in community mediation. In addition to this, staff specialise in other areas of mediation; Liz is a qualified Workplace Mediator, bringing to the process her experience of running charities, social enterprises and businesses and Rose is a qualified Family Mediator, bringing to the process her experience of mediating in family settings including homelessness mediation where the relationship between parents/guardians have broken down and the young person is potentially homeless.
Cwmpas mediators have experience in dealing with strong feelings and emotions combined with the ability to listen, talk and enable people in dispute to come to an agreement.
- Do the Mediators find the Solutions for Us?

NO: the mediators enable all the parties involved in the dispute to find their own workable solutions.
- Who else will Know What I Say

Cwmpas mediation is confidential, what you tell us in the initial meeting will be between the mediator and yourself. In the Joint Mediation you decide what information you wish to share with the other parties involved.
The only time confidentiality will be breached is if the mediator believes there is likely to be harm to yourself, others and especially a minor or criminal activity is disclosed. - Will it be like Court?

NO: It is not adversarial, addressing problems of communication breakdown, allowing everyone to have their say in a safe and comfortable environment.
- Is the Agreement Legally Binding?

NO: the agreement is a mutually agreed resolution to the issues discussed and is a powerful document as it is in your words and the resolutions have NOT been imposed on you but mutually agreed.
- Why use Mediation rather than the Courts

Cwmpas CIVIL mediation process provides a way forward, in a prompt cost effective manner without the need for legal action. Using mediation does not stop you taking legal action in the future.
Mediation is a proven process that has a success rate of 90% when all parties agree to participate in the full process.
