Managing Conflict and Anger

Overview:

This course is aimed at anyone who wishes to acquire some skills and processes for managing conflict and anger. The course will provide skills in managing anger in yourself and others and give you simple techniques that will enable you to manage conflict more effectively.

Course Details:

One Day course 10am to 4pm with comfort breaks and Lunch included.  This is an interactive learning experience with supporting handouts provided for future reference.

Who this course is for:

The course is aimed at people who have some difficulty coping with or who have little confidence in dealing with stressful situations and/or expressing emotions effectively.

  • Identifying triggers of anger
  • How anger escalates
  • Addressing issues with assertiveness not aggression
  • Personal responses to anger in others
  • Calm and open communication
  • Understanding of basic conflict resolution techniques

  • To have increased confidence in dealing with conflict and Anger
  • To recognise triggers of anger in self and others
  • To recognise the effect of anger on others and yourself
  • To express personal issues assertively not aggressively
  • To recognise the benefits of open communication
  • Be able to deal with conflict more confidently

Full Day Course

9.30-4.30pm lunch included

This course is designed to develop individuals’ and groups skills’ in dealing with conflict. The course covers trigger points for conflict, how we communicate negatively and positively; barriers to communication, effective communication. Communication covers both verbal and non-verbal communication and the impact our body language has on the message that we are trying to deliver. The course will also explore our listening skills and the impact this has on communication.

By the end of this exciting interactive course participants will be aware of their own communication style its strengths and weaknesses and the impact this has in conflict situations, be able to use active listening skills to enhance communication and reduce the likelihood of conflict.
